NOTD: 'The Fault In Our Stars' 1st Anniversary Nail Art

Today's post is one that I actually should have put up two days ago, but since I'm horrible with dates I mixed it up somehow. But you gotta love that cliche that late is better than never.

Happy ONE YEAR (+2 day) anniversary to The Fault In Our Stars. I really can't believe it came out one year ago and that it has only been that time in which I have read it. To commemorate this event I did some nail art inspired by the Collector's Edition book cover. It's very similar to the nail art I did for the original cover, which you can find here. They're both very simple manicures, but fun to sport as a reminder of how much this book means to me.

As I mentioned earlier, I based this manicure off the Collector's Edition book cover. I couldn't resist purchasing it despite the copies I already own. The platinum was a beautiful change and I think the engraving of John's signature on the hard cover was a nice touch.

When my copy came in the mail I couldn't stop staring at the beautiful metallic cover. I knew even as I was placing my order that I would have to do a manicure for the book's anniversary based on the Collector's Edition and I think I actually like the outcome more than the original one I did.

The polishes I used are shown in the photo below in case you are curious.

([L-R]: Essie "No Place Like Chrome," "Licorice," CG "White on White," Sally Hansen "Blue Me Away!")

And now for several photos of the actual manicure! I plan on sporting this for the next several days. It's a nice little reminder of how far I have come since this book entered my life a year ago.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my manicure for the one year anniversary for The Fault In Our Stars. Congratulations John! If you haven't read the novel, I highly recommend it. It's one of my all-time favorites. (:

  1. Yay! I didn't realize the cover was metallic, it looked neutral-beige in the pics. But lovely nail art!

    1. My pics? I attribute that to Instagram filters. The ones of me holding the book with the manicure show it's metallic quality much more clearly. (:
