Zoya "Caitlin" & Essie "Stroke of Brilliance"

Today's nail of the day is a combination that I adore, Zoya "Caitlin" with Essie's "Stroke of Brilliance" on top. The combination reminds me of a more glitter-y version of Butter London's "No More Waity Kaite."

Zoya's "Caitlin" is a neutral grey-toned purple/blue (heavier on the purple side). Though I only used 1 coat of Caitlin in this combination, there were slight bald spots left after it. I didn't bother with a second coat primarily due to the glitter that I knew would probably cover up all those spots.

Essie's "Stroke of Brilliance" is a glitter (of similar color to Zoya's "Caitlin") that is composed of bigger round glitters and smaller glitters. This glitter polish looks as if it were made to go over "Caitlin."

These two polishes go together if they were actually one polish. And even though I coated every finger with Essie's "Stroke of Brilliance," I don't feel as if this look is too glitter-y.

Dark glitter on my nails is becoming a favorite of mine for fall. It's a way of incorporating darker colors without getting too boring. Though grey-toned polishes are some of my favorites, wearing them repeatedly can begin to feel dull and redundant.

Zoya's "Caitlin" and Essie's "Stroke of Brilliance" is a combination I will be repeating throughout fall and winter.

Would you wear it?

  1. I am wearing this now, only I concentrated all of the glitter polish toward the bottom of each of my nails. I was already wearing Caitlin when I went to Target tonight and saw Stroke of Brilliance. I immediately snatched it up and came home to try it out. So glad you also think they are a perfect pair! I'll have to try covering my entire nail in it as you did. It looks great that way too!

    1. Doing the glitter on the tips sounds pretty and good for those occasions when you don't want glitter-overload on your fingers!
